Every time i see colours like these, i cannot help but think of a magical world where everything is possible. this gorgeous artwork took me exactly to such place Yoonhee!! love the heart shaped patterns on the butterflies. how thoughtful and charming. i think they are more being protected than trapped in this lovely wonderland!! Yes, it does remind me of The Tholian Web episode from Star Trek, probably because the painting has a surrealistic, sci-fi vibe.

I love the contrasts of textures and shapes in this work. The juxtaposition of the roundness of the butterflies with the grid is just amazing. The lines both augment and break up the sense of perspective simultaneously. My nickname for your painting: "The Tholian Web"
